Tazo Chai Tea

In its most simple form, 'chai' is black tea that is brewed strong with a combination of spices and is diluted with milk and sugar. Widely drunk in India, it is becoming very popular in western tea and coffee houses.

How does Tazo chai tea (bought from the Company) compare with that bought in Starbucks?

The name Tazo has its origins in many cultures. The gypsies thought 'tazo' meant river of life, while the ancient Babylonians considered tazo to be an elixir with hidden magical ingredients.

Starbucks describes its Tazo chai tea as "A full-bodied blend of exotic teas and spices for those who seek inner peace at a slightly gentler pace. Enjoy it morning, noon or night, for a rich and soothing escape from traditional teas."

Its ingredients are; an infusion of (water, black tea, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, natural flavors and star anise). Cane Sugar, Honey, Ginger Juice, Natural Flavors, Vanilla and citric acid.

The ingredients in Decaffeinated Chai are: naturally decaffeinated black teas, rooibos, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, chicory, cloves, black pepper, natural flavors, and star anise. It is also caffeine-free!

Tazo organic chai tea "is so delicious, complex, and versatile. It is more peppery/spicier than other Chai's I have tried. In fact, this tea is so delicious, it is the only chai tea I will drink! Why bother trying anything else?!

When drinking this tea, I make sure the water is extra hot and I add a touch of honey and some milk, which makes tea drinking an exquisite experience. It's absolutely delightful at all times throughout the day."

It is suggested that because this tea doesn't taste like the Starbucks tea that you can add the Tazo Chai Syrup which will be more consistent with the Starbucks' flavor.
